UDC: Name? Background? Who are you? CP: What’s up this is C-Pone representing Grifter Records, Boy. Straight out of North Dallas and Denton. Ya’ll know where we from. UDC: Explain what C-Pone means to you? CP: CPONE it stands for Constantly Peeping Our Negative Environment. This is self explanatory meaning I’m keeping my eyes on the street and checking out for my people. UDC: Who are your musical influences? Why? CP: Jay-Z and Nas. I like the artists that focus on the lyrics. Those are the top artists that have influenced me to spit dope lyrics. UDC: At what time did you realize that music is what you want to pursue? CP: When I got out of prison. You know nobody was trying to hire a brother. So I eventually picked up the mic and began spitting. But I have always been involved with music since I was a young child.

UDC: How do you feel the internet has affected your music and the music industry as a whole? CP: How I feel… it’s a good way to get your music and your face to all races of people. What else is better then sitting in the comfort of your own home listening to your favorite artist. It’s one of the best ways to promote yourself especially for independent labels.
UDC: Describe CPONE five years from now? CP: On top of the game. A big business man running things. Running the Dallas’ music game, helping get kids off the street and just creating a higher education out here in Dallas. UDC: What types of pressure do you face as an artist? CP: Really …there aren’t any pressures. I think its just being confident in what you do. I make sure I release quality stuff. I don’t just throw any thing out there. It’s a waste of time for you and the listener. Just keep it real. Stop trying to rap like you’re from somewhere else. UDC: Are there any words that you would like to express to your audience? CP: Look out for that new CPONE: Gangsta, God, and Greatness. Also look out for “The Mixtape Before The Album” . Dropping Jan 25th 2005. CPONE! Grifter! Don’t forget it. Look out for that Small Soldiers. We’re all in the street, you seen the Hummer and the Benz. Be on the look out for CPONE: Constantly Peeping Our Negative Environment. CPONE C-PONE
