Let the game begin
Kin-Fõk Krü, this tightly knit family unit of lyricists and musical producers from Texas artistically strive to blend the raw essences of jazz, funk and soul with their own blend of southern hip-hop culture. The content of their lyrics will no doubt challenge the listener as they have the potential to ultimately alter the way in which rap music is perceived today.

Choosing to speak on as well as openly explore subjects and topics that touch mind, body as well as the spirit is the standard. Delivering verbal descriptions of everyday life that relate to the way in which we all live is what they seem to do best.

This dynamic duo (and at times ensemble) of artists and businessmen wear a variety of hats and play multiple roles going back and forth between the board room to the studio to record. The burden they bear at times appears unbearable as they juggle family responsibilities, full time jobs, and the duties of operating an independent record label simultaneously.

In spite of their struggle they seem to maintain balance and focus by recognizing their position in an industry that often overlooks the independent artist.

Only time will reveal if the fruits of their labor will pay dividends. Until that time these “Brothers of the Soul” will continue to strive for excellence by doing what they do best.

With verbally descriptive subject matter, topics ranging from states of mental consciousness, social commentary on the status of affairs in the community as well as the expression of the essence of the “old-school” party vibe, their range of topics vary. Over the years this versatile collective of artists representing Dallas, TX have been consistently making their presence felt at the grass roots level. In addition to performances at select venues they are now in preparation to “bring it” to the masses with the release of a new single and forthcoming full length CD titled GAME BEGIN.

Lead Vocals for the Kin-Folk Crew are performed by brothers of the soul; Bilal Kareem (aka Cutty-Luv-Jones) and T.Shamyr (aka Bruh-N-Law). Both blend their unique styles of delivery over in-house production. Individually, the duo eloquently and boldly display unique styles of vocal delivery, while simultaneously maintaining overall cohesion of thoughts in the process.

While sounding as different as night and day the duo seemingly find a variety of ways to blend and manipulate their diversity to their advantage. Kin-Folk Crew openly invites people from all walks of life to listen carefully to their distinct blend of flavor. Furthermore, the group also invites listeners to, “simultaneously raise their level of consciousness as they raise the level of volume.”
