MONEY WATERS
UDC: Name? Who you are. Background Information?
MW: It’s Money Waters straight from the grove Dallas, Texas. I got an album called “The Porch” its live blues tracks over Southern rap. It has never been done before. I’m from here and all I talk is here. Williams’ chicken and all. I’m out here grinding doing my thing man.
UDC: How did your exposure come about and how has it benefited your music?
MW: Everything helps. Everything is press so I stay out here grinding. Everything I’ve sold has been straight to the people. You probably didn’t get my album in the stores. You got it from your partner or from me for real. I’m just out here grinding making things happen for the DFW.
UDC: What is your take on the radio’s lack of support of local artists?
MW: The radio stations we have are main stream stations. They play the top 40. They play the top 40 of what the world is playing. When I went to Jackson and we were riding down the street, I was hearing something different every hour. Here in Dallas we hear Ashanti, Ja Rule or R. Kelly every hour. You know how we do it at K104 and 97.9. Over in Jackson their playing things that we haven’t heard before. What I’m learning is that our radio stations are top 40 and nothing is wrong with that. You see how they’re rolling. Go on and make your bread. What up Street, Nice, Big Bink and Skip ya’ll make your bread. Those are my ni@@as. I'm not trippin. We have to surpass the top 40 and hit the people. If were going to surpass radio it means we got to work harder, and there isn’t a problem with that.

UDC: How do you feel the internet has affected your music and the music industry as a whole?
MW: That's another way to get straight to the people. It's another venue. We can now bypass the radio stations, go directly to the people by using the internet.

All the units that I've pushed have been straight to the fans, hand to hand. I'm not going to trip on the radio stations. I'm just going to work harder. We can do it ourselves. There's money to be made out here.
UDC: What sets you apart from the other artists out in the game and make the fans want your music?
MW: I’m just doing some real ni@@a sh*t. I'm keeping it with the code. The new album “Ni@@a Laws” is going to be straight for the ni@@a code. It's common knowledge. It's some nice sh*t. I got Young Bleed Corleone on it, I got Ole Mann, I got my man Pikhasso and Limpleg. I'm going to keep the same formula. I'm crunk about it. I'm not going to lie to you. It's beautiful sh*t. I'm working with Rubba Rode, a live band. Those cats are cold. I'm just so crunk about it man.
UDC: Describe Money Waters five years from now?
MW: I'm going to be grinding. I may not be rich but I'll be grinding. You dig what I'm saying. I can’t even answer that. Sh*t cause I know ya'll are going to holla at me five years from now. (laughs) Fu*k that!
UDC: Do you have any words of encouragement for artists out there doing there thing?
MW: Hey, keep working. Just keep doing your thing. Any artist in DFW, wherever in the South or anywhere just keep doing your thing. Quit the hating, let's get out here and let's grind. I'm with ya'll. I got love for ya'll.
UDC: Are there any words that you would like to express to your audience?
MW: I appreciate Undevco for the time. “The Porch” is in stores now, go get that. The video is out entitled "So I". We have been doing some things. We'll be at the SXSW doing a live show. Then I'll be in Memphis in the next couple of months. Ya'll be ready. Money Waters man. “The Porch."
